This masthead was designed for an email newsletter that sends a roundup of blog articles to subscribers each month. The masthead background photo varies with each issue. The monochromatic palette echoes the black and white films of the past, while the type treatment is reminiscent of vintage signs and storefronts. The blog articles highlighted in the newsletter cover vintage and pop culture topics, so it was important to visually convey this immediately in the email.
